The reason Iīm writing In his introduction Rich Schefren pointed out the 4 important basic steps in starting a successful business and creating momentum. THE MINDSET OF AN ENTREPRENEUR The entrepreneur himself is the decisive factor as far as success or failure is concerned.There are a few questions everybody should ask himself and go into deeply before starting a business. a. What is your vision? b. What kind of business do you want to have? c. What are the skills that are needed to build a business? d. How much money do you want to earn? e. Where do you want to end up? If you look at your own answers you can now easily reverse the process and list all the obstacles that prevent you from having reached that goal of yours yet.And from then on it is a step to step process of taking the right action to exactly reach your goal.Rich made it very clear that an entrepreneur must have a certain mindset and an inner balance in order to handle set backs, feelings of uncertainty, procrastination, time management, uneffectiveness and more. The most important reason to start a business is to provide some sort of value for people and to improve the lives of others.If no value is provided no money is earned and the business will not grow. What are the problems other people have. Do I have a skill to solve their problem? These kind of questioning might lead to your own niche you then can become an expert for. YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE You donīt necessarily need your own product or service. More important is to develop your skills and learn to be your own teacher.Thereīs lots of things to learn, why not create your own product if itīs want you can do best.If not just find out what you enjoy doing and become an expert on this kind of skill. The big question to ask yourself is : Am I an action taker?Are you taking the right action at the right moment or are you hesitating in uncertainty or procrastinating. Why is that people canīt take action? A common problem is that they are overloaded with too much. Too many projects going simultaneously.You are suffering from information overload and then it will be difficult to stay focussed.Donīt talk to much about projects. It is time consuming and prevents you from taking the real action. Focussing on what you are doing and not getting distracted is a quite common issue.Rich presented a solution on the webinar which helps people to stay focussed. He talked about a `scorecardī for your actions during the day. You assign different amounts of points to your daily activities - the most important ones get the most points naturally and then at the end of the day you look at the result. This way you are able to determine your effectiveness. The more points you get the more you build your business. MARKETING Thereīs lots to learn about marketing. You donīt have to be good at everything. Once youīve gained momentum in your business itīs easy to find the right people that are doing the job for you. What you want to do is building a business not doing everything on your own. That will drive you crazy and then even the rat race job is a better alternative. Rich talked about some more advanced steps when building a business including project management, time management, outsourcing of tasks, how to find the right people that just fit into your company and much more. I hope I have given some good impression of what Rich was talking about on the webinar and for those of you who are seriously interested in doing business he might be the right mentor. Check it out.
