A Brief Overview of Direct TV and Current Packages

Way back in the year of 1994, a company called Direct TV launched a new entertainment service that broadcasted high-quality multi-channel satellite transmissions which bounced from satellites in space and the earth.

The Total Choice package offers more than 135 channels of qualitative programming. Movies, music, sports and all local channels in one basic package.

Total Choice Plus package provides the subscriber with 155 channels of satellite transmission, inclusive of children?s shows, various sports networks, news and entertainment, commercial-free music, and local channels.

Total Choice Premier offers the subscriber 215 channels comprising of everything our base packages have to offer, an additional line-up of movie channels, sports networks and all local channels.

Direct TV's premium services packages include 30 movie channels to create a personalized programming package.

Direct TV's Sports Pack premium service offers over 25 regional channels and specialty networks, with sports as varied as auto sports to fly fishing.

Adult Programming - Adult Entertainment pay-per-view programming from top channels like Playboy TV, A Taste of Spice, SPICE PLATINUM, The Hot Network and The Hot Zone are provided with this package.

International Programming - International programming is offered in Vietnamese, Chinese, South Asian and Spanish languages.

Direct TV Para Todos - Spanish and English programming, the subscriber can choose from various Para Todos Channel packages.

South Asian - Six services featuring different South Asian languages.

Vietnamese - The Vietnamese Direct service featuring the Saigon Broadcasting Television Network (SBTN), the first 24-hour Vietnamese programming network in America.

Italian - Sky TG24 broadcasts in Italian and is dedicated entirely to news, with live news features every 30 minutes. The channel features in-depth stories and reports, including debates with guests in-studio.

Chinese - Three different Chinese-Language packages with programming in both Cantonese and Mandarin broadcast from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
