Eight Ways To Staying Happy

Happiness is a state where you are zoned in to what you are doing forgetting the time that passed and the people around you. It is when you are totally focused on any enjoyable activity. Some people call it ?Flow?. That?s why most of us seek out daily
activities that brought enjoyment to us and increase our experience of ?flow?. Activities like playing video games, reading a page turner paperback, riveting movie, sex or any activities that floats your boat.

In order to experience happiness, we should not think and worry about the past or the future. It is when you are here enjoying your present moment. It our own obligation to ourselves to have as much present moments in our lives. So forget about the past or the future, you are here today in your present moment. Only then you can say we are happy.

Here are eight ways that help us reduce daily stress , increase ?flow? and savor our present moments.

1.Faithful Fido. Caring for a dog, cat or fish can do wonders for the soul. For the single person, a pet offers a sense of family and serve as an emotional buffer.

2.Make your kids sign out. It?s hard to be at peace and be happy if you are spending two hours worrying about your kids w
ho took off before you got home and didn?t leave a forwarding address or telephone number. Stick a message board and erasable marker and tell them to note where they went. If you can afford it, assign each kid cellphones , so you can call or send text messages to them anytime.

3.Get real. Jumping from one relationship to the other just to find that perfect mate to enhance your self image will only result in a futile search. Don?t let high expectations perpetually sabotage yourself. Dream if you must but make it realistic.

4.Don?t track dirt in. Make your home a sanctuary. Don?t complain or bring your gripes from work to your place of abode.

5.Cultivate a positive outlook. Everything around us is neutral. We impose the value either in positive or negative. It is basically up to us which distortion we choose.

6.Soak in hot tub. Relax your muscles by soaking for 15 minutes in water that?s just a few degrees warmer than your body temperature.

7.Just say no. Eliminate activities that are not necessary. Prune your activity branches. If you are on the softball team, coaching little league, driving kids to piano lessons , handling the church bazaar you are choking on more than you can chew. Decide what gives you the most pleasure (like reading this article) and do only those things.

8.Dare to be dull. If you are an average joe , who isn?t hyper, pushy or self absorbed there?s an international club for dull people. There?s a membership fee and you get a certificate that authenticates you as a dull person plus avail of infrequent newsletters. It?s ok to be dull , it takes a lot of life?s pressures off.
