---------------Maintenance
MAINTENANCE A paper shredder is normally designed to last seven to ten years. With the right maintenance like oiling of the cutting assembly to reduce friction, removing dust that builds up in the blades, and replacing bags as they fill, one can improve efficiency. It is advisable that the shredder not be continually used at its maximum paper capacity.

---------------Special Tips

SPECIAL TIPS Where to buy From:
Office equipment dealers that specialize in the sale of shredders provide the best selection of models and are the only choice for office-grade units.

Time to Take out the Trash:
A bin full indicator, which alerts you when a bag is full of shreds, can be a very useful feature, particularly for shredders that are housed in a cabinet. Overflowing bags of shredded paper are one of the most common causes of paper jams.

Lowering the Cost of Consumables:
Replacement bags can be purchased from the shredder manufacturer. However this can be very costly. A better alternative is to contact a plastic bag manufacturer and order bags with similar dimensions.

Ask your Dealer for These:
Regular cleaning, tune-ups, regular electrical diagnosis, cutting head repair and replacement. It also helps if you get a complete dis-integrator service, including knife changes and sharpening. Make sure your shredder comes with a preventive maintenance program.

A paper shredder is an ideal for most offices, especially for business in very high competitive markets or those with a lot of legal interaction or labour unrest. So, if your office does not have a paper shredder yet, it is time to go and acquire one.
